Welcome!
I am Maria Annicelli owner of Hooves, Paws & Claws CT. After working 12 yrs in the healthcare industry, I decided to provide the CT Shoreline and surrounding areas with a professional pet sitting service. I have always been passionate about animals and their care and wanted to help as many animals as I can.
My husband and I have a small rescue farm in Clinton, CT with foster horses, 2 rescue dogs, cats and chickens! As it turns out, this house was previously, where the Forgotten Felines started her rescue group! We have now expanded the original purpose of this property and are continuing it's original mission to help animals and make sure all animals are loved and cared for properly.
My childhood home was filled with foster animals of all kinds and my mom was a also a wildlife rehabilitator for raccoons and squirrels.
I remember the nights of holding the raccoons and bottle feeding them, sometimes wrapped in blankets and towels so they could feed themselves, as I couldn't feed them all at once! I would hear their happy little purring sounds.
Our one rescue, Teddy, a raccoon wound up staying with us as his leg injury would not allow him to be returned to the wild. He used sit in the window sill in the bathroom... upside down.
Sadly, Teddy, was apparently ripped from his beautiful house we had for him and went missing. We strongly suspect wrongdoing on the part of the neighbor. This has fueled my passion for all animals and especially the helpless and abused.
Our dog "Jazzi" is a rescue pit that I found on a post in Facebook by a rescue. She is about 10 and is the sweetest most loving dog, adorable dog.
I also am a volunteer for rescues doing home visits to verify potential adopters, and validate their abilities to properly care for, feed and love the animals.
I will also be CPR and First Aid Certified, November 2019.
